Pundit Deepak Maharaj

Deepak Maharaj was born on 25th February 1970 in Delhi in the illustrious family of the Kalka-Bindadin Gharana. He received his training at a tender age from his father the renowned Kathak maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj. He began performing on stage from the young age of nine and also accompanied his father on many concert tours in India and abroad.
He has performed leading roles in dance dramas choreographed by Maharaj ji, most notably amongst them Krishnayan, Kumar Sambhav, Katha Raghunath Ki, Rupmati-Bajbhadur, Shan-e-Awadh etc. These concerts and his solo performances were received with critical acclaim in India, U.K., U.S.A, Canada, Italy, Dubai, Germany, France, Australia, Russia etc.
He has also been invited to give lecture demonstrations by SPIC-MACAY at various institutions all over the country.
He is also certified as an ‘A’ grade aritist by Doordarshan Kendra, New Delhi. Deepak is also an excellent vocalist & a good percussionist. With his various achievements he has emerged as the torch bearer of the Kalka-Bindadin Gharana.

Mrs. Nalini Toshniwal is a prominent kathak artist in Japan. She received her training in Ajmer under guidance of eminent Kathak Acharya Shri Manak Chand Jodhpuri, who is the Guru bhai of late Pt. Durga Lal ji and disciple of Guru Pt. Sunder Prasad ji (Jaipur Gharana). Nalini founded Ruchika Dance Academy in Ajmer in the year 1990. The academy was relocated to Kobe, Japan when she moved to Japan in 1993. It is her constant endeavour to help her students in developing an all rounded personality through dance and to inspire them with the aesthetic and spiritual merits of KATHAK and Indian culture.
Nalini has organized several dance concerts and has invited famous artists from all over the globe. Members of Ruchika dance academy have participated in several dance and cultural exchange events in Japan and other countries including India, USA and UK.
I have been Coordinator for SPIC MACAY in Ajmer for seven years.
幼少よりカタックを習い始め、インドのチャンディーガル大学でカタックの修士号を取得。1990年インドのAjmerにカタックスクールRuchikaを設立。1992年の来日後は神戸・芦屋を中心に活動している。国内外での公演を通じて、インドと日本、世界の国々の文化交流に尽力している。

Pranshu Lal a child prodigy born in New Delhi on August 30, 1992 is a grandson of Legendary Tabla Wizard Late Pandit Chatur Lal and son of Pandit Charanjit Lal. He has been learning Tabla from his father and Guru Pandit Charanjit Lal.
He is being appreciated all over the world for his stage confidence and control over rhythm (laya).
Right from young age Pranshu Chaturlal, has been exhibiting the intricate rhythm patterns, which his grandfather was famous for and has also been playing the rare old compositions of old maestros.
His performance in Delhi with Grammy Award winner Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt and the performance in Bangalore with Pt. Shubhendra Rao was immensely admired.
Recently his performance for Badshah of Bollywood Mr. Shah Rukh Khan in Gurgaon and Percussion Ensemble in Delhi has been the talk of the town.

タブラ奏者。伝説のタブラ奏者である祖父 Pandit Chatur Lal の家系に生まれ、父と共に7歳で米国カーネギーホールで演奏するなど、幼少より海外でも演奏活動を行う。祖父譲りの複雑なリズムパターンの巧みな演奏技術や、昔の楽曲からポップシンガーとのコラボまで、幅広いジャンルでの活躍が高く評価されている。

Ghulam Waris was born in a family of traditional Indian Classical musicians. He learnt the art of playing Sarangi under the guidance of his uncle Padmabhushan Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab, a great sarangi samrath of India and father Late Ustad Ghulam Ahmed Qadri Sahab, a great sitar maestro. By virtue of belonging of the Sainia Gharana of Rampur-Muradabad, their tradition of music can be traced back to Miyan Tansen, a jewel in the court of Mughal Emperor, Akbar Baadshah.

サーランギー奏者。音楽家一家に育ち、インドで有名なサーランギー奏者である伯父と偉大なシタール奏者である父から演奏技術を学ぶ。多くの著名なアーティストと共演する他、シンガーとしても才能を発揮し、精力的に演奏活動を行っている。

Tadao Ishihama

Tadao Ishihama (石濱匡雄(いしはま ただお))

Tadao Ishihama, a versatile sitar artist, was born in Osaka in 1979. Ishihama started playing the sitar from the tender age of 15. After a period of intensive training in Japan, Tadao Ishihama came to India for the first time in 1997.
In Kolkata he was trained by eminent sitar guru, Pandit Monoj Shankar of the famous Maihar gharana. Ever since Tadao Ishihama has been giving stage performances at various important functions and venues not only here in India and in Japan but he has played the sitar the other Asian countries.
Tadao Ishihama has had musical sessions and recordings at the Rock, Jazz, Hip Hop, House, [with Astad Deboo, Seoul Traditonal Music Orchestra, Park Beum Hoon, Keith Middleton from STOMP, Miles Electric Band] etc.
Though Ishihama lives in Osaka, Japan, he continues to come back to India to his guru to further embellish his beautiful style. With Tadao Ishihama there is no stopping. He is continuously trying to better his skills. In Japan, he not only conducts cultural functions but has also dedicated himself to introducing and teaching aspirants to the heritage of the north Indian musical instrument-THE SITAR.

シタール奏者。15歳でシタールを習い始め、コルカタにて、巨匠モノジ・シャンカール氏に師事。現地でのコンサートやTV出演を重ねる。2003年からは日本を拠点にし、インドや各国のイベントでの演奏やメディア出演、ライブなど精力的な活動を展開している。
